About This Project:
| Objective: | The closet mainly used for linens and blankets is a utilitarian space and much needed in this particular home. The interior space needed to stay as it was. | | Challenges: | The outer face was white with shiny golden tone metal knobs. It was very outdated and absolutely nothing to look at. It did not add any interest to the corridor where is located. | | Results: | My goal was to repaint the façade in a trompe-l'oeil effect, reproducing a view from a European street. My client liked the idea, therefore I designed it first on paper in a smaller scale and in color. Client loved it and we started the work.
I painted this trompe l'oeil myself and had a load of fun doing it. It is not the first time I paint trompe-l'oeil in my clients' home. Generaly I hire an artist, but if I like the project so badly, I will get down and paint it myself. Of course the compensation is separate from my designer's fees. |
