About This Project:
| Objective: | Clients wanted a multi-purpose and somewhat elegant great room a step down from their newly-renovated kitchen. | | Challenges: | Due to the step-down, the ceiling is quite high and the room could be daunting and cold. Challenge was to create a sense of elegant warmth and to provide for both seating and dining. | | Results: | At the far end of the room in the bay window (not shown) is a round game table that seats four for an intimate dinner, a quiet breakfast or family fun. The grouping at the fireplace adds warmth and comfort for a cozy chat amongst friends and family, or for solitary reading and TV watching (TV hidden in the bookcases). Area rugs define the seating groups and add warmth to the room. |
