I specialize in making the most out of any interior space, whether commercial or residential. I enjoy customizing spaces as well as, utilizing every aspect, in order to, "Domoore with your space". I have over 10 years of experience in Interior Design and Visual Merchandising. I have a B.A. in Psychology and Interior Design. I started out as a Furniture and Mattress specialist for Bloomingdale's Furniture Gallery. That is where I learned first hand about fine furniture and the business of furniture and the mattress industry. This knowledge cannot be taught in school and gives me an upper hand when shopping for clients in deriving and spotting the best deals. After Bloomingdale's I joined the merchandising team at Fortunoff which was a housewares store in the Tri-State, known for fine jewelry, its outdoor furniture, Christmas shop and exclusive housewares items . There I specialized in store displays and outdoor furniture. I helped to design many outdoor spaces as well as creating Christmas displays.
After Fortunoff, I moved onto Store Designer/ Interior Designer for La-Z-Boy Galleries. There I performed house calls and designed interior spaces for customers. I chose everything from paint colors to custom order rugs and furnishings. I was also the visual merchandiser for Raymour and Flanigan where I ordered merchandise for several showrooms, designed the store layouts and decorations.
I established my business in 2004, working privately with many clients I met in my showrooms. My projects have ranged from entire home renovations in Florida, kitchens, master bedrooms and living room redesigns.
As a designer I am familiar with many aspects of design, not just interior design principles. I have worked with small business owners to improve their profitability by improving the look of their showrooms. I have helped homeowners to make important decisions with regards to budgets as well as spatial issues. As a designer I understand the importance of beauty and function. I like to take practical approaches when it comes to designing interiors. I believe in repurposing and sustainable design. My knowledge of furniture manufacturing leads to a home filled with less harmful chemicals which leads to healthier cleaner homes.
