Shannon Lyle, IDS Associate - Herndon, VA
| Birthday: | December 9 | | Company: | Design Defined | | City/State/Zip: | Herndon, VA 20171 | | Country: | United States of America | | Work Phone: | 703-980-0069 | | Email: | shannon@design-defined.com | | Website: | www.design-defined.com | | About Me: | By designing and fabricating window treatments, pillows, and bedding, I have enjoyed transforming homes for years. This process inspired me to pursue residential design as a career. I completed the Residential Design program at Art Institute of Pittsburgh, where my coursework included color theory, space planning, kitchen and bath design, and furniture design, and textiles, among others.
As a trained speech-language pathologist who practiced in medical settings for years, my communication skills enable me to effectively listen to clients to assess their preferences and lifestyle needs. This skill, along with my education, experience, and creativity allow me to transform their words and vision into rooms that exude comfort, functionality, and are pleasing to the eye and to the soul.
I enjoy finding inspiration in fabrics and artwork. A client's preference for a certain fabric or piece of art can set the stage for the design plan. These items can be instrumental in developing the color palette and the style of the room. Some of the most beautiful rooms can be the result of design plans inspired by a swatch of fabric or a cherished keepsake. |
