Hi Jill

Thank you so much for requesting a room review with me. You have really created a great start for your living room with your paint selections by bringing in the colors from the artwork to the left of the fireplace. I am so happy to see you are not afraid of color!

I would like to see you create more emphasis over the lovely fireplace by accessorizing and adding in artwork with verticle height, you have made a good start with the candle sticks. I love the mosaic tile and black accents of the fireplace and would actually want to repeat some of those elements to unify the room more. I noticed children in your photo, I love the idea of starting a collage of candid photography in black and white with black frames trailing up the wall of the staircase. This will balance the room nicely, bringing over the black element of the fireplace.

To anchor the room and create harmony, I would love to see an area rug in a pattern with all of the colors in your room in the seating area. Add in pillows, throws and accessories in the orange/red accent color from the adjacent room to create more flow. It is a little difficult to see your windows and floor plan from the photography to be able to comment, however nice black hardware for the window treatments will again create unity in the room.

With these few adjustments, I believe you are well on your way to creating the room of your dreams.
