Thank you for your room review request. Sounds like you have a lot of great ideas for your living room, you just need a little guidance with those trouble areas to make it complete!
You are correct in needing a stronger, more proportioned wall hanging/arrangement behind the sofa. The four piece mirror you have sounds like it would be the perfect size for the sofa wall. Remember to hang artwork at eye level, or since it's going behind the sofa, 4-6" from the top of the sofa is a good rule of thumb.
Now I would suggest balancing off the opposite wall by the wood stove with a wall treatment. Your idea with the wainscoting sounds great. You might want to consider doing a stone treatment from floor to ceiling instead to "frame" the stove so to speak. This will emphasis the height of the space while creating a nice rhythm for the eye.
Now we need to address your troubled window treatments. I see how this frustrates you having two different height windows/patio to work with, but don't give up, you are almost there! You were on the right track by using the same fabric, but in a different style window treatment. The reason you're still not satisfied, is probably because the drapes you have now are a bit heavy, emphasizing the lowered height of the patio door. A lighter treatment would be better suited for your living room.
Lastly, we need to talk about all your furniture! Right now you have a lot of furniture in your space, making it feel a bit crowded. With a proper furniture layout, we can create a more open and inviting place to hang out.
