Hi Dorothy!

Thank you for your room review request. You have beautiful traditional wood pieces throughout, and I really love the cream paint color. I would keep the Interior Door white as it is, and have the outside painted Benjamin Moore- Essex Green & waxed. The staircase might be nice with stained wood/white paint.

Presently, your space is lacking a definite focal point and a sense of balance. Some artwork and accessories to bring out the rug colors will help add harmony as well. Right now the eye jumps all over the room, with no real focal point.

Covering your furniture with slipcovers is a good start, especially if you are going to add cream drapes to the mix. This will help keep the space light. The furniture and accessories all very dark and traditional, so be careful not to let the space become too dark.
