That question may
challenge some of you while for others it may bring up feelings of fear or
insecurity. The bottom line is that successful people think differently and
if you want to be successful, you need to start thinking and acting like those
who are successful and have become your mentors.
The shared qualities
of successful people include confidence, pushing though doubt and fear,
resilience, a positive mindset, discipline, focus and passion. If you
can cultivate these qualities into your life, you too will surely be on the
path to success.
Success
doesn't come without some falls along the way and definitely doesn't come
without working hard. The most successful people rely on their
passion to push them through because the desire to succeed is greater than any
obstacle that might stand in their way.
Success can't be
defined monetarily or by the number of accomplishments. The
most successful people may not even know what they make and often have to be
reminded of all they have accomplished. There is definitely a humility that
comes with true success. Success is defined by aligning your passion with your
work and allowing that passion to lead the way.
Success is about
stepping outside your comfort zone because that is where the true growth lies
and to shrink from that only sabotages your potential.
Just like an infant is constantly being stretched to fulfill their earliest
potential - first to roll over, then to crawl and then to walk, we too as
adults continue to be stretched to achieve that same potential that may seem
simple in hindsight but in the midst presents major turning points in our
lifetime. The desire of a young child is pure unencumbered full of
passion- we need to somehow capture that same spirit again.
Don't shy away from
your true potential. Embrace what feel is your path. Create the
vision and then allow yourself to openly work towards it employing the same
qualities that others before you who are no different have done to achieve the
great successes in their lives. You most definitely have what it takes -
believe it and start living and acting from that!
Action Steps:
Think about the bigger vision
you have for your business. Really take some time to make that vision crystal
clear. Get as detailed as you can. Write this vision down and read it at least
once each day. Don't let thoughts of "I can't do it" or "this is
not possible for me" to take over. Each time those
thoughts creep in, override it with a positive affirmation that says "Yes
indeed I can do it and yes, not only is this absolutely possible for me,
it is my destiny".
A vision is not placed in your
mind randomly or accidentally. When we give space to formulate our vision, it's
the seed to creating our truest potential. Steve Jobs had a vision, continued
to nurture it not letting anyone stand in his way and look what he created. The
only difference between him and you is where you draw the line on limiting your
potential. Focus on your vision with an inner sense of passion and destiny and
the success will most absolutely come.
