Most Tibetan rugs are Handknotted on a loom such as a persian rug.One of the differences with tibetan rugs,is a metal rod(ghourdes) in placed before each row of knots are tied, then clipped.Tibetan rugs can be measured by knot count .Anywhere from 60 to 120 knot with silk.
