New York’s Soho is a treasure trove of design stores. On a recent trip I stopped by Georgia Tapert Living to be greeted by the lovely Georgia herself. A former design assistant to David Easton, Haynes-Roberts and Mica Ertegun (MACII), Tapert has collected items from across Europe, India, Asia and South America. “My vision for the store”, said Tapert, “was to create a destination where people could furnish their entire home on a very individualized, personal level. I want clients to think of our shop as the ultimate source for home accessories - a place where they will always find one-of-a-kind pieces, whether it be for their own home, a wedding gift, a house warming present or a holiday gift.”

The walls of the store are decorated with photographs by Jill Krementz , picture frames from the Oscar De La Renta home collection, china from Argentina, glassware, trays, and vases as well as chic linens from Belgium and lovely embroidered cashmere throws from India.
